Toni Anderson

I'm Toni, the Assistant General Manager

I started at Starr Cycle at the parts department in June 2011. I now manage our website and unit inventory records, help out with the administration side of sales, organize and prepare us for events, assist customers on the floor with apparel and gear, sell machines, and I can still hop up to the parts counter to pickup, sell, order and receive parts! I can also give you a first hand account and information on how to sign up for a Minnesota State Safety Course/Basic Rider Course, as I earned my motorcycle endorsement through a course in 2012.

My birthday is May 31st, 1991. I graduated from Mankato West in 2009 and attended a year and a half at Minnesota State University and South Central College. During the summer break of my second year, John hired me to work in the parts department through the end of their busy season. He knew I hadn't grown up around powersports, but he saw my passion for motorcycles and gave me the opportunity to try. Sam, Trish and John teamed up to train me in and I caught on quickly! By the end of that summer, John offered me a full-time position which I gladly accepted. From there, I started helping Nate with our website, out on the sales floor, with financing and administrative duties.

I bought my first streetbike a month after working at Starr Cycle. My friends had taught me how to ride their R6's, CBR600RR/F4i's and ZX6R's after I graduated high school in MSU parking lots, but I thought I'd start out small- and bought a new 2011 Honda CBR250R. Since I was already comfortable on mid-sized sportbikes, I quickly outgrew it and traded it 3 months later in September 2011, for a new 2010 KTM 690 Duke. This is the streetfighter I'm still riding today! The next bikes I want are either a street-legal KLX110L or a Kawasaki Z125

June 2011 I bought my first offroad bike- a new 2011 Kawasaki KLX140L. I played around on it for about a year, but ended up selling it the following spring. March of 2013, I bought a pre-owned 2003 Yamaha TTR90 with an FMF pipe and big bar kit, which was a great bike for taking out to pitbike tracks and bringing along to BIR and other race-related events. In December of 2013 I also bought a stock pre-owned 2004 Honda CRF50 and installed street tires, a BBR big bar kit, thicker pegs, rear wheel pegs and a rear brake lever kit to it over the winter. Freestyle riding is what got me into motorcycles in the first place, so I love having my own little minibike to play around with now! In spring of 2017 I sold my TTR to a friend, and it's been a blast watching him and his friends adding to it and riding it at BIR.

Christmas of 2014, I bought my parents their very first ATV- a new 2015 Honda Foreman Rubicon DCT (EPS). I also got them a winch and plow kit so that they don’t have to shovel the driveway anymore. They love it! Christmas of 2016 they added heated hand grips with a thumb warmer. "And it's still running perfectly" they say!

My favorite part about this job is seeing our customers enjoying this lifestyle! Whether you're just looking for new gear, for accessories to make your vehicle more personalized, or if you're picking out and taking a new vehicle home- from when you walk in the door, planning your next ride, to watching you smile walking out- that’s what the this lifestyle is all about! If I can help you out in any way, feel free to call the shop and ask for me or email me directly at toni.anderson@starr-cycle.com
